US State Department keeps concerning about Azerbaijani and Hungary deal
YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS: The United States condemns any action that contributes to regional tension, that is why the United States is disappointed by Hungarian government decision on Safarov extradition. US State Secretariat Acting Deputy Spokesperson Patrick Ventrell came forth with a statement in the course of daily press conference.
''United Nations will continue contacts with Armenia and Azerbaijan in the direction of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement and weakening of tension'' Ventrell noted. As Armenpress reports citing US State Secretariat official web site on the reporter’s question whether this building had any opportunity of communication with Azerbaijan or Hungary in this regard, was there any conversation between State Department and Azerbaijani authorities, Ventrell was quoted as saying '' we most definitely have been in touch with authorities. Our statements expressed our deep concern in this regard, and so we’ve definitely been in touch through bilateral communication through those channels. To the question pertain to the comments by the President of Azerbaijan are stirring up problems, the high ranking official came forth '' Well, I haven’t seen his comments since then, but we were deeply troubled at the time, and we continue to be troubled. Patrick Venrell assured the reporters on Armenians disappointments and concerns, that they are definitely in touch with Armenia, obviously through the Embassy, but also through other channels.
