Constitutional Council of France to adopt decision on Armenian Bill within a month

YEREVAN, JANUARY 31, ARMENPRESS: Constitutional Council of France must discuss and determine how much the Armenian Bill meets the constitution within one month," head of the Armenian Cause Office in Paris Hrach Varzhapetyan told Armenpress.

Armenpress reported earlier that French senators appealed on Tuesday the law penalizing rejection of the Armenian Genocide adopted at the French Senate.

65 MPs and 72 senators signed to appeal the law at the French Constitutional Council. The council is expected to make public its decision within a month.

Some members of the ruling party and main opposition Socialist Party signed the appeal, which was pioneered by Jacques Mezard at the Senate and Michel Diefenbacher, the head of Turkish-French Parliamentary Friendship Group, at the Parliament.
