Everyone is waiting for the New Year irrespective of age, sex, post. People tie their wishes and dreams with that day. Armenpress tried to find out what expectations representatives of the executive power of Armenia have from this holiday. Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan presents her expectations from the New Year.

- Mrs. Poghosyan New Year has a special sacrament. On this day people make wishes, believe in miracles. Do you believe in New Year miracle?

- At the New Year night each person sums up the passing year and makes programs for the coming one. Among them are realistic wishes and sometimes unrealistic. I am a person who does not think of unrealistic dreams and illusions, but at the same time I believe in miracles otherwise the life would have been dark and sad.

- Is there a dream, a wish you make each New Year so that it comes true? 

- I have permanent wishes I keep every year and they are connected with the health, security and happiness of my relatives as well as every year I wish peace and security to the world. As of now, I do not have dreams that have not come true.

- Everyone loves getting presents. There are also presents which are being remembered throughout the life. Which one will you remember? 

- The most impressive one are the gifts received from childhood age. I remember the joy I felt while getting toys. And the greatest recent New Year gift was the spending of the holiday with my first grandchild.

- Though celebrations bring happiness and joy, very often they are accompanied with pleasant “worries” among them is New Year shopping. Is it a worry or pleasure for you? 

- The New Year worries are the most pleasant ones. I love this holiday as it is a family holiday. We always mark it at home, in a family atmosphere. I get ready for it with great pleasure. Previously I was doing everything with more pleasure, now I have a lack of time because of my business.

I love decorating New Year tree and the house, I love preparing traditional dishes but I do not go shopping. It is the affair of my husband. I am only buying presents.

- What will you wish the people in New Year? 

- Peace, health, job, welfare life. If having all this, a person starts living in harmony with himself/herself. I think there can be nothing better.
