WORLD ARMENIAN CONGRESS TO CALL ITS ASSEMBLY IN OCTOBER IN ARMENIA

YEREVAN, JULY 5, ARMENPRESS:The regular assembly of the World Armenian Congress will be held in Yerevan in October. This year the World Armenian Congress marks its 5th and the Union of Russian Armenians its 9th anniversary. Ara Abrahamian, the chairman of the two organizations, told yesterday at a press conference that days of congress and the union will be held in Armenia and Artsakh. Within the framework of the event it is also expected to create Armenian-Russian Businessmen Dialogue Association. A. Abrahamian said that during the meeting with Serzh Sargsian they also discussed the issue on creating Armenian-Russian Business Forum which, Abrahamian said, will promote the involvement of investments of Russian Armenians in the Armenia’s economy. “The potential of the Diaspora is being used maximum by 5 percent. The creation of Diaspora Ministry inspires hope that the coordination of Homeland-Diaspora ties will be more effective. Only with the direct support of Armenia it will be possible to create powerful Diaspora in Russia,” Abrahamian said.
