AZERBAIJANI FILM FESTIVAL TO BE HELD IN YEREVAN IN OCTOBER

YEREVAN, AUGUST 14, ARMENPRESS:Festival of Azerbaijani films will be conducted in Yerevan in October organized by the Caucasian Center for Peaceful Initiatives. The director of the center Georgi Vanyan told Armenpress that short-length films of different genres will be presented at the festival. Currently the selection round of the films is in process. Vanyan said the information about the festival has been spread by the Azerbaijani media and there are certain responses. “Many people are interested in the festival but display distrust towards its conduction. We have not received films from the Azerbaijani side yet, but we are trying to acquire the best Azerbaijani films showed in international film festivals,” Vanyan said. Before showing the films, the authors’ agreement will be requested. Vanyan noted that by the conduction of the festival they are expecting to promote ties between the publics of the two countries, elaboration of dialogue. The deadline for receiving the films is September 10. The festival is being conducted with the support of US Embassy in Armenia.
