At least 15 dead, 8 missing in Haiti floods

YEREVAN, JUNE 5, ARMENPRESS. At least 15 people have died and another eight are missing after heavy rains caused widespread flooding and several landslides acrossHaitiover the weekend, the Associated Press reported citing local authorities.

Nearly 13,400 people were forced to evacuate.

The Associated Press reported that local officials were still assessing the impact of the rains.

The rains also caused “significant damage” to crops in the country’s central region at a time when starvation is deepening.

Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry said he was working with local and international organizations for aid.
