Bulgarian-Armenian Cultural Centre to be established in Varna

YEREVAN, JANUARY 18, ARMENPRESS. A Bulgarian-Armenian Cultural Information Centre will be established in the Bulgarian city of Varna, on the Black Sea coast, BTA reports.

The decision was made at the annual Armenian Christmas charity ball, BTA reported citing organizers from the Pan-Armenian Charitable Union "Parekordzagan".

The first event of the new centre will be a concert of Kristina Aznavour under the patronage of French and Armenian ambassadors in Bulgaria – Joël Meyer and Armen Yedigarian, on April 30.

An initiative to name a street and place a bas-relief of Prof. Dr. Garabet Kaprelian, who was Dean and Rector of the Medical University in Varna from 1977 to 1983 was being considered. He was the founder of the Department of Virology and a couple of city hospitals. His son is currently the vice-chairman of the board of the Pan-Armenian Charitable Union "Parekordzagan".
