Azerbaijan’s violations of 9 November 2020 trilateral statement are constant in nature - PM

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS. Azerbaijan’s violations of the 9 November 2020 trilateral statement are constant in nature, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said.

“The first clause of the trilateral statement stipulates the complete ceasefire and termination of all hostilities in the area of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone. But despite this stipulation, Azerbaijan launched unlawful military actions, starting from December 13 of 2020, one month after the trilateral statement was signed, particularly in the form of the occupation of the villages of Hin Tagher and Khtsaberd in Nagorno Karabakh. On 24 March of 2022 units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces invaded the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno Karabakh in the section of Parukh village at the Karaglukh height and are still deployed there. Such military actions took place before and after that, the violations of the ceasefire regime by Azerbaijani Armed Forces in Nagorno Karabakh in that line of contact of Nagorno Karabakh continue to be constant in nature. Azerbaijan’s occupation of territories of the Republic of Armenia as a result of the provocations of May 11, 2021, November 14 of 2021 and September 13 of 2022 also constitute a gross violation of the first clause of the trilateral statement. The everyday ceasefire violations along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border are also a gross violation of the first clause of the trilateral statement by Azerbaijan,” Pashinyan said.

Pashinyan added that Azerbaijan’s actions also violate the third clause, according to which a line of contact is formed in Nagorno Karabakh under the responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.
