Armenian parliament debates increasing minimum monthly salary up to 75,000 drams

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS. The Parliament of Armenia debated at first hearing the legislative initiative submitted by the government which proposes to raise the minimum monthly salary from 68,000 drams to 75,000 drams starting 2023.

The package of bills was introduced by Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ruben Sargsyan to the lawmakers.

He said the initiative derives from the government’s action plan. Mr. Sargsyan said that while developing the draft they have taken into account the current socio-economic situation in Armenia, as well as the results of the analysis of the data containing information about the macro-economic indicators of the country.

“It is proposed to increase the minimum monthly salary in Armenia from 68,000 drams to 75,000 drams starting from January 1, 2023”, the deputy minister said.
