Armenian President awards Bulgarian MP with Gratitude Medal

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 20, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan awarded today Member of Parliament of Bulgaria, Head of Bulgaria-Armenia Friendship Group Atanas Zafirov with a Medal of Gratitude for his contribution to strengthening and developing the friendly relations between Armenia and Bulgaria and for preserving the universal values.

The award ceremony took place in Sofia on the sidelines of the Armenian President’s state visit in Bulgaria.

Atanas Zafirov thanked for the award, stating that being awarded by the President of Armenia is a great honor for him.

“I want to thank you and state that not only Iwork on the development of the Armenian-Bulgarian relations, but also a lot of my colleagues. This medal is very important to me, it reflects our work”, he said.

The President of Armenia said that he highly appreciates the attitude of the Bulgarian leadership to Armenians living here, as well as to the citizens of Armenia.

“We have a chance to express gratitude to you concretely and all of your colleagues who contribute to the development of the Armenian-Bulgarian relations. We highly value the attitude of the leadership of Bulgaria to our compatriots living here, as well as to the citizens of Armenia. We, the moderns, have an obligation to continue these traditions that go back to centuries. Congratulations once again, I wish good luck to you and your colleagues”, the President of Armenia said.
