ASUE students and lecturers will use SAP innovation technologies in educational process and 
research

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 11, ARMENPRESS. Armenian State University of Economics (ASUE) and the world's largest provider of enterprise applications SAP announced about collaboration within SAP University Alliance. ASUE will be the first university in Armenia to join the SAP University Alliance as a full member and will be able to teach a range of academic disciplines using SAP products, as well as conduct academic research. The cooperation agreement at the SAP NOW business conference in Armenia was signed by Rector of ASUE Diana Galoyan and Managing Director of Multy-country cluster, SAP CEE Alexander Metechko. 

In this way ASUE will join a community of more than 3,100 of the world's leading universities in the education program. ASUE will have the opportunity to teach students, to improve the qualifications of lecturers and to prepare research papers using the world's best practices accumulated by SAP. Students and lecturers will have access to courses and SAP learning systems.

ASUE also plans to participate in the SAP Innovations Challenges program run by the SAP Innovation Center Network. ASUE has planned to create innovation technology work zone/lab, where students will have the opportunity to get acquainted with and use SAP innovative solutions. In addition to that ASUE is planning to organize start up incubation events. The ASUE primary goal in this context is creating digital culture, boosting knowledge-based achievements and providing sustainable job opportunity for the young generation.

The SAP University Alliances program enables academia to educate the next generation for the Intelligent Enterprise and the experience economy, engage at SAP events, build industry partnerships, and prepare graduates for the SAP ecosystem. At the global level, more than 3,100 educational institutions from 116 countries, more than 50 academic innovation and development centers, startups, and research projects are participants in the program.

EU TUMO Convergence Center and Russian-Armenian University are an associate member of the SAP University Alliances program. They have access to SAP software and learning content, and a partnership with the SAP network, including SAP Next-Gen Labs around the world.

SAP Next-Gen – a project-based learning format based on Stanford University school model, aimed at attracting motivated students, leading scientists and researchers to solve real industrial problems and create prototypes of innovative solutions using SAP platform technologies assuming physical and virtual presence at focus universities

SAP Innovation Center Network, multidisciplinary teams from several locations worldwide work on use cases that can't be solved with today’s technologies but require bold ideas. SAP Innovation Center Network combines the diligence and foresight of research with the speed and ambition of a startup.

SAP Innovation Challenges was launched in Armenia in October 2021 from a strategic collaboration with EU TUMO Convergence Center aimed at helping university students and recent graduates understand, utilize and shape digital technologies. With TUMO, SAP Innovation Center Network provided 22 innovation challenges to explore emerging technologies and concepts, each associated with one of four SAP Innovation Center Network projects: augmented extended planning and analysis (xP&A), augmented access control, future of self-service, and future of asynchronous work. During the four months, experts from SAP Innovation Center Network monitored the progress of all challenges and were in constant exchange with the participants to support if needed. 

After working on their projects, the students presented their outcomes at a demo day in April 2022 in front of SAP and TUMO experts as well as SAP customer ACBA Bank and partners.

The second round of the program, supported by SAP Startup Factory by BANA, ended in early October, 2022.

More than 100 students from various Armenian universities took part in the SAP Innovation Challenge at TUMO Labs and dozens of projects were made under the guidance of the SAP Innovation Center Network.
