We will not abandon Artsakh – Speaker of Parliament

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 6, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian authorities have always said that Artsakh must return to negotiations, Speaker of Parliament of Armenia Alen Simonyan told reporters.

“We’ve always said that Artsakh must return to negotiations and we’d be very happy to find the path for returning that mechanism. As to the question on [abandoning] Artsakh, no one has [abandoned] our citizens and there are actions beyond rumors. Meaning, the actions that are being done now by the authorities prove that we are not going to abandon Artsakh,” Simonyan said.

Asked what Armenia would do if Azerbaijan were to refuse to directly negotiate with Artsakh, Simonyan said Armenia will continue protecting and keeping the rights of the people of Artsakh, like it has been doing for the past 30 years.
