More evidence on Azeri torture, desecration of captured Armenians presented to International Court of Justice

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 21, ARMENPRESS. Armenia submitted new evidence to the International Court of Justice on cases of desecration of the bodies of Armenian troops and violence against Armenian prisoners of war committed by Azerbaijan, the Office of the Representative of Armenia on International Legal Affairs said.

In the letter, Armenia notified the court on the continuous violations of the court’s 2021 December 7 decision by Azerbaijan in the Armenia vs. Azerbaijan case examined within the framework of the international convention on elimination of all types of racial discrimination.

The new evidence presented to the court includes the information on the torture and murder of Armenian prisoner of war Davit Gishyan in Azeri custody.

Armenia also presented examples of the widespread anti-Armenian hate in Azerbaijan and reiterated its urgent appeal to amend the decision on applying interim measures.
