Armenian President attended Queen’s funeral

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan attended the funeral of UK’s Queen Elizabeth II, the Presidential Office said.

The President participated in the farewell ceremony of Her Majesty Elizabeth II and left a note in the mourning book at the Lancaster Palace.

Thereafter, Vahagn Khachaturyan attended the official reception hosted by UK’s King Charles III at the Buckingham Palace.

On September 19, the Armenian President participated in the farewell service of Her Majesty Elizabeth II at Westminster Abbey, and then attended the reception organized by the British Foreign Minister.

During the receptions President Khachaturyan had private conversations with the leaders of a number of countries and high-ranking officials of international structures. During those meetings he touched upon the consequences of the latest Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia’s sovereign territory, as well as the targeting of civilian population and infrastructure, the gross violations of international and humanitarian law by the Azerbaijani armed forces.

The Nagorno Karabakh issue, the geopolitical developments were also touched upon.
