YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 16, ARMENPRESS. The Head of the Border Guards of the Russian Federal Security Service in Armenia Lt. General Roman Golubitsky showed images of Azerbaijani shelling targeting the Russian Border Guards checkpoint stationed in Armenia’s east to the CSTO Chief of the Joint Staff Anatoly Sidorov, Sputnik Armenia reports.

“The 15-man Sotk border checkpoint was deployed in the two-storey building. After the shelling began people took shelter in the corridor of the first floor, no one was wounded. In fact, during the fire the crew were able to exit the position, but they were unable to evacuate the entire equipment,” Golubitsky said.

Sidorov is leading a CSTO monitoring mission to Armenia after the Azerbaijani attack.
