Pashinyan assures no document has been signed

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan assures that he has not signed any document, there is even no draft document, therefore, he ordered the Armenian servicemen to stand on the borders, territorial integrity and defense positions of the country and not to give in to manipulations.

“I have just been informed that people spread news claiming that I have signed a document. It has nothing to do with the reality. I officially state that no paper has been signed, moreover, no paper is going to be signed, there is no talk about any paper. And this is done for a special purpose in order to weaken the resistance of our soldier standing at the border”, the PM said live on Facebook, adding that he is not going to sign any document.

He added that what he has stated today during the Q&A session in the Parliament does not differ from his previous publicly-made stances.

The PM reminded that Azerbaijan has proposed points for the peace treaty, and the Armenian side said that there is nothing unacceptable in that points, but it does not contain all the issues on the agenda, and amended that agenda which includes also the rights, security guarantees of the people of Nagorno Karabakh and other conditions deriving from it which guarantee the security and the exercise of rights of Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh.

“We have stated that we will not give a corridor through Armenia’s territory to anyone. We will not sign a paper that will question Armenia’s territorial integrity in any way. It is ruled out”, he said, once again assuring that he has not signed any document. “I have not signed any paper. Nothing like this has been envisaged, there is no draft paper on my table today which should be signed or should not be signed. Nothing like this is planned for the coming days as well. At this moment there is no text or a paper for me to sign or not to sign. I was told that today soldiers are calling from the border, asking whether it’s true that a document has been signed, so it means we are not guarding our borders anymore?” the PM said.

Pashinyan called for uniting around statehood to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity. “Our homeland, Armenia, is more than sanctity, it is not subject to bargaining. I have said this today in the Parliament. Be that with a corridor or something else, we are not going to make our sovereignty, territorial integrity a subject of bargaining, we are not going to do that. I have stated that on the other hand we will not avoid responsibility if we see that there is a solution, even not of a dream, which does not cross the red lines of Armenia’s interests, we are ready to take the responsibility of it as well and go to that solutions”, the PM stated.

He ordered the soldiers of Armenia to stand at the borders, territorial integrity and defense positions of the country, and urged them not to give in to manipulations.
