‘There is clear risk deadly clashes could escalate into war’ - Armenian deputy FM tells Reuters

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS. Armenia sees a clear risk that deadly clashes with Azerbaijan could escalate into war, therefore it calls on big powers to pay more attention to this grave situation, Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Paruyr Hovhannisyan said in an interview with Reuters.

Asked about the risks of escalation into a full-blown war, Hovhannisyan said: “There is a clear risk”.

“You know how fragile the situation is in our region. The situation as we just mentioned continues to escalate. We need more attention from the international community to what has happened - we deserve more attention”, Hovhannisyan said.
