Governmental commission to organize slain PM Vazgen Sargsyan’s 60th anniversary of birth celebrations

YEREVAN, MARCH 1, ARMENPRESS. At the directive of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the government has set up a special commission that will organize the celebration of late Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan’s 60th anniversary of birth that will be marked on March 5. 

Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan was assassinated by gunmen during the 1999 Armenian parliament shooting. 7 other government officials were also killed in the attack.

The commission that will organize the anniversary events will be led by PM Nikol Pashinyan himself.

The commission in composed of Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan, Finance Minister Atom Janjughazyan, Territorial Administration and Development Minister Suren Papikyan, Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan, Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan, Police Chief of Armenia Valery Osipyan and acting Minister of Culture Nazeni Gharibyan.
