Socialists lead in Moldovan parliamentary election

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 25, ARMENPRESS. The Party of Socialists is leading in the parliamentary election of Moldova, according to the Central Election Commission’s preliminary results. The Party received 31.75% of votes, RIA Novosti reported.

ACUM bloc has gained 25.26% of the votes, the current ruling Democratic party – 24.48%, Sor Party – 8.55%. The remaining political units failed to pass the 6% threshold.

The voter turnout for the Moldovan parliamentary election was 49.22%.

As of now none of the parties has enough votes to independently form a majority in the parliament.

Earlier the Socialists and ACUM bloc announced that they have no plans to form a coalition with any party.

The Moldovan parliamentary election kicked off on February 24.

The MPs are elected for four-year term.
