YEREVAN, APRIL 25, ARMENPRESS. The negotiations over the peaceful settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict should be restarted. The negotiations are really a necessity in order to prevent the violence that took place recently, in an interview with journalists French Secretary of State for European Affairs Harlem Désir said this in Tsitsernakabert Memorial Complex.

“We should all unite our forces in order to establish lasting, sustainable peace in the region based on three fundamental principles: non use of force, people’s right to self-determination and territorial integrity. This is the message for what I am here”, “Armenpress” reports, he stated.  

Désir added that firstly there is a need to establish trust mechanisms through the use of technical measures to investigate the border incidents. “The restoration of negotiations over the peaceful settlement of the conflict and the establishment of trust mechanisms will be the major emphasis within the political meetings which I will hold in Yerevan and tomorrow in Baku”, French Secretary of State concluded.
