YEREVAN, AUGUST 24, ARMENPRESS. August 23 at the age of 88 People's Artist of the Republic of Armenia Varduhi Khachatryan passed away. Armenpress was informed from the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Armenia that a funeral committee will be created on the occasion of Varduhi Khachatryan’s death.

Varduhi Khachatryan was born in Gyumri, 1927. She moved to Yerevan at the age of 18. She studied in the vocal department of State Musical College after "Romanos Melikyan" in 1945-1948 and in Yerevan State Musical Conservatory after Komitas in 1949-1951. She taught music and was a professor. She had concerts in different countries and was awarded numerous prizes, certificates.
