Flowers were laid at tomb of Armenian soldier murdered in Turkish army
ISTANBUL, 24 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. On the day marking the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, crowds of people laid flowers at the tomb of SevakBalıkçı, a soldier of Armenian descent who was killed in the Turkish army. As “Armenpress”’s correspondent reports, every year, a clergyman said a prayer and burned incense during the ceremony, and this year was no exception.
The people gathered at the Armenian cemetery of Shishli voiced hope that the murder of Sevag would be revealed and that the culprits would receive their deserved punishment. Sevag’s parents, as well as Hrant Dink’s widow, Raquel Dink also attended the ceremony.
