Azerbaijan is trying to present its ideas of imitation of negotiations as the Co-Chairs’ proposals: Tigran Balayan
YEREVAN, 20 FEBRUARY, ARMENPRESS. Azerbaijan is trying to present its ideas of creating an imitation of negotiations as the proposals of the Co-Chairs. This is what press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Balayan declared in response to the following question of a correspondent for Panarmenian.net: “The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has declared that Armenia rejected some kind of proposals for regulation of the Karabakh issue that the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs made in Yerevan after paying heed to Baku’s calls. What would you say about that?”
As the Department of Press, Information and Public Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, Balayan also mentioned that the proposals of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs for the regulation of the Karabakh issue are stated in the five famous statements issued by the leaders of the co-chairing countries, including Russia, the United States and France. “As we have mentioned several times, unlike Azerbaijan, Armenia is ready to continue the negotiations over the regulation of the issue on the basis of those proposals,” the MFA speaker emphasized, adding that for that the first thing that needs to be done is to speed things up to reach an agreement on the Basic Principles, as the leaders of the three co-chairing countries have highlighted in their statements, and only after that will it be possible to start drafting the peace agreement.
