Ambassador of Japan hands copies of his credentials over to Armenia's FM

YEREVAN, JUNE 2, ARMENPRESS. On June 2, the first resident-Ambassador of Japan to Armenia Eiji Taguchi handed over copies of his credentials to Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.

The Press, Information, and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia informed “Armenpress” that congratulating the Ambassador on the occasion of his appointment and wishing fruitful activities Minister Nalbandian attached importance to the opening of the diplomatic mission of Japan in Yerevan. Minister Nalbandian expressed hope that the opening of the mission would give a new impetus for the development of bilateral relations. Edward Nalbandian expressed gratitude for Japan's continued support to Armenia since the independence.

Thanking for the reception and wishes Ambassador Eiji Taguchi reassured that would exert maximum efforts for the strengthening and deepening of bilateral friendly relations.

During the meeting the sides touched upon a wide range of issues related to the Armenian-Japanese agenda, attached importance to the development of parliamentary ties, discussed the steps taken to deepen trade and economic cooperation, exchanged views on the strengthening of interaction within the International organizations as well as holding political consultations between Foreign Ministries.

Minister Nalbandian expressed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' support to the newly established Embassy of Japan in the implementation of its mission.
