YEREVAN, 26 JANUARY, ARMENPRESS. On January 26, Co-chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus Eduard Sharmazanov met with representative of the Armenian community of Cyprus, co-chair of Cyprus’s State Commission for the Armenian Genocide Arto Davitian.
As the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia reports to “Armenpress”, greeting the guest, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly touched upon the events to be held on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. In this context, Eduard Sharmazanov attached importance to the role of the Cypriot-Armenian community and mentioned that the Republic of Armenia, Artsakh and the Armenian Diaspora must be united for international condemnation of the Armenian Genocide and for international recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh.
