Deputy Defense Minister of Armenia informed foreign military attachés about dramatic increase of tension along contact line
YEREVAN, AUGUST 1, ARMENPRESS. On August 1, the First Deputy Defense Minister of the Republic of Armenia Davit Tonoyan received foreign military attachés accredited in Armenia. As “Armenpress” was informed from the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Defense Ministry of Armenia, the aim of the meeting was to inform the military attachés about the recent dramatic increase of tension along the Armenian-Azerbaijani contact line.
Davit Tonoyan introduced the existing facts about the activation of subversive intelligence and sniper operations carried out by the Azerbaijani side and response steps of the Armenian side, sharing with the attachés assessments and assumptions of the Defense Ministry on Azerbaijan's goals, future behavior, as well as the possible response actions of the Armenian armed forces in connection with the current increase of tension.
At the end of the meeting the First Deputy Defense Minister of Armenia urged the military attachés to take the necessary steps through official channels in order to reduce the current tension and keep the neighboring country from new inflammatory and provocative actions.
