In first half of year Armenia's economic activity grew by 3.4 percent

YEREVAN, JULY 21, ARMENPRESS. Armenia's economic activity in the first half of 2014, as compared with the same period of the previous year, recorded a 3.4 percent growth. As reports "Armenpress", the National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia published the current operative summary of the data, characterizing the socio-economic situation in Armenia, according to which in January-June gross agricultural output grew by 1.4 percent, the volume of the trade turnover - by 5.6 percent.

During the mentioned period, industrial production volume remained unchanged, while the price index amounted to 8.7 percent. In the first half of this year construction volume grew by 0.4 percent, the volume of services – by 4 percent. Consumer price index recorded a growth of 4 percent, while the average nominal salary rose by 7.1 percent.

In January-June of 2014 foreign trade turnover grew by 1 percent, exports by 0.8 percent and imports by 1.1 percent. During the mentioned period around 3.2 percent reduction only in the volume of electricity production was observed.
