TOP ARMY OFFICERS QUIT YERKRAPAH UNION

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 25, ARMENPRESS:A cohort of top army generals and Colonels, led by Seyran Ohanian, chief of the general staff of the armed forces, abandoned on Sunday the Yerkrapah Union of Nagorno-Karabakh war veterans in protest against its involvement in politics. The move came after deputy chairman of the Yerkrapah and some other members of it voiced their backing to ex-president Levon Ter-Petrosian. The army generals said in a statement that the organization should not meddle into process which bring no honor to defenders of the homeland.
