Armenian police foil alleged mob hit

Police have foiled a planned murder in what authorities described as a hit ordered by a mobster, according to the Interior Ministry.

The ministry said in a statement that the suspect, described as a “person regarded as a criminal authority,” had arranged the hit while under house arrest.

Police did not name the target.

Several people have been arrested in connection with the plot.

Other details were not immediately available.

A video released by authorities shows armed, masked operatives raiding a home and arresting several individuals.
