Motorist dead after car is sprayed with bullets on Sevan-Martuni road

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 4, ARMENPRESS. A criminal case on murder and illegal possession of firearms has been opened after a motorist was shot dead while traveling the Sevan-Martuni road in the morning of November 2. The attack took place at the 39th kilometer of the road.
Gurgen Hakobyan, 40, died in the Gavar Medical Center shortly after being admitted and failing to regain consciousness.
The Investigations Committee said they found nearly 30 bullet holes in Hakobyan’s vehicle. Detectives also found 21 bullet cases from the side of the road where apparently the shooter was positioned.
The shooter used an automatic assault rifle, authorities said. An investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the suspect.
