YEREVAN, OCTOBER 29, ARMENPRESS. The Yerevan City Hall has reached a preliminary agreement with a private investor on the construction of a new subway station. The location of the new station will be in the Ajapnyak district, Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Sargsyan told reporters.

“The negotiations have reached the blueprinting phase of the subway station and bridge. We have a preliminary agreement that the investor will start funding starting from the blueprinting phase,” he said.

He said they will propose a business model to the investor on building a shopping mall or a business center above the station.

Sargsyan said recently the general contractors involved by the investor have visited Yerevan and have researched the Hrazdan Gorge and the tunnel section. As a result, an agreement has been reached that the project will be realized.

“We hope that certain works will be launched starting spring next year,” he said.
