Authorities probe Tovmasyan’s participation in “apparent crime” during tenure as justice minister

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 29, ARMENPRESS. The Investigations Committee has announced it has gathered information on “Hrayr Tovmasyan’s direct participation in apparent crimes” during his tenure as Minister of Justice.

Authorities said the information emerged during an investigation into possible misconduct committed by former justice ministry official Norayr Panosyan and Yerevan City Hall officials. Tovmasyan was the Justice Minister during Panosyan’s tenure as Head of the Legality Supervision Inspection of the ministry. The Investigations Committee said the information substantiates that Tovmasyan himself has acquired a territory in downtown Yerevan which was auctioned by the City Hall.

Authorities said the investigation has revealed that Hrayr Tovmasyan has committed misconduct leading to grave consequences during his tenure as Minister of Justice.

The criminal case has been forwarded to the Special Investigations Service.
