Political decision is clear: there shouldn’t be partial fight against corruption, says Armenian PM

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 12, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian government approved the package of bills on making an amendment in the Criminal Procedure Code and the Law on Banking Secret.

During today’s Cabinet meeting first deputy justice minister Rafik Grigoryan said according to the current legislation the law enforcement agencies are limited to the subjects over which the legislation allows to obtain banking secret information. “Armenia should ensure the accessibility of financial data for the law enforcement agencies in case of necessity so that they can discover and investigate corruption crimes”, he said.

In his turn Prime Minister Nikol Pahsinyan commented: “We either fight corruption or not because partial fight is unacceptable”. He added that the political decision is clear – there shouldn’t be a partial fight against corruption.
