Cabinet member sues activist for verbal abuse

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan has filed a lawsuit against activist Aram Khanzadyan for verbally assaulting her during an event earlier in August.

The lawsuit was filed on September 2, court documents show.

Batoyan seeks a public apology and compensation from Khanzadyan, a member of the Kamk (Will) NGO, who according to the Cabinet member insulted her during an August 7 discussion of the Council of EuropeConventionon Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence, aka the Istanbul Convention.
