‘Don’t litter and treat environment with care’ – Speaker Mirzoyan’s message for community service day

YEREVAN, MARCH 23, ARMENPRESS. The country must be perceived as one common environment which must be kept clean – this is the main idea of the nationwide community service day that kicked off today, according to Speaker of Parliament Ararat Mirzoyan.

Apart from cleaning, the Speaker attached importance to not littering public areas. He also highlighted that the society must understand that the environment must be treated with care.

“In order to maintain cleanliness in the country this kind of thinking must be awakened in citizens, awareness campaigns must be carried out. Children must be taught that garbage belongs in garbage bins,” he said.

He argues that new legislative regulations are not necessary for the matter.

The Speaker himself is actively taking part in the community service day.
