YEREVAN, MARCH 1, ARMENPRESS. Speaker of Parliament of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan touched upon the 2008 March 1 tragic events in a Facebook post, reports Armenpress.

“On March 1, 2008, shots were fired on the protesters aimed at suppressing the peaceful demonstration of the citizens in the capital of Armenia. Many of us, who were carrying out a peaceful fight for freedom and dignity, could be one of the 10 killed that day, the 11th, the 21st… Remembering that day, all the victims, all the injured, remembering all those who returned to their homes broken, we must forever close that bloody and shameful page of our history and unequivocallyreject and rule out political violence and pressures in our country. Never again!”, the Speaker said.
