Meghri FEZ very good platform for developing business with EAEU, EU and Iran - Premier Karapetyan

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS. “Meghri” free economic zone is a very good platform for developing business, considering the opportunities of our country, Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan told the reporters during the opening of “Meghri” FEZ, adding that the opening of a FEZ is not even half of the work, and it demands regular efforts.

“Our intentions are quite serious, since we are convinced that the conditions to be created at Meghri FTZ and the opportunities our country has, I mean the trade regimes we have with the EAEU, the EU, our neighbor Iran, and other countries, are a very good platform for business development”, ARMENPRESS reports the Premier saying.

“Though we are in a high mood for announcing the opening of the free economic zone, but the real works starts from now”, Karapetyan said, adding that from now on the Minister of Economy and his team will be under very “pleasant target”.

On December 15 the Meghri FEZ launched its activity at the presence of Armenian PM Karen Karapetyan. The companies operating in the Meghri FEZ will be exempt from profit tax, value added tax, excise tax and customs fees, paying only the income tax. The fields of agriculture, processing industry, trade, transportation and storage economy, tourism will be presented in the FEZ.
