President eyes fulfillment of 4 million population goal

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS. The 4 million population bar is the pre-condition of normal development of Armenia and President Serzh Sargsyan finds it realistic to reach by 2040.

In an interview to ARMENIA TV, the president said that although a specific action plan doesn’t exist yet, a task force has been created after his speech which is dealing with this issue.

He stressed that the country must create possibilities for immigration during that period of time, by focusing on healthcare issues, families, social conditions, employment of the youth and other issues.

“I find this to be very realistic, because many many people who had migrated Armenia didn’t find what they were looking for. And it is possible to bring these people back”, the president said.
