“Power was formed in polling stations” – Opposition Yelk bloc accepts ruling party’s authority

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 11, ARMENPRESS. The opposition Yelk bloc is accepting that the ruling HHK (Republican) party’s authority has been formed with the results of the 2017 parliamentary election – in the 105 seat parliament, with 58 mandates.

Commenting on a question regarding the legitimacy of the HHK’s power, Yelk MP Edmon Marukyan stressed to reporters that there is a clear path for forming power – elections.

“Now we look at the latest process of power formation. With the 2017 election results, the Republican Party formed 58 mandates in the 105 seat parliament. This power was formed in polling stations. Now, this power is recognized by the international community, by the Armenian community”, Marukyan said.

He reminded that after the elections they said for the record that this time the citizens have formed the power in the polling stations.

The MP said they accept this authority, because citizens voted for this power.
