YEREVAN, DECEMBER 6, ARMENPRESS. During the 12th session of the UNESCO Conventionfor theSafeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the Committee included the Armenian folk dance Kochari in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the Armenian culture ministry told Armenpress.
Earlier this year Armenia’s application ‘Kochari, traditional group dance’ was positively assessed by the independent experts of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Kochari is a traditional Armenian dance widely performed across Armenia and the Armenian Diaspora.
The Armenian delegation departed for the Republic of Korea to participate in the UNESCO session.
