‘I applaud the entire team’ – Leonardo DiCaprio on Armenian Genocide film ‘The Promise’

YEREVAN, APRIL 6, ARMENPRESS. Oscar winning Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprioexpressed his admiration for the entire team who made the Armenian Genocide movie The Promise.

“Oscar Isaac, Christian Bale and Charlotte Le Bon, under the direction of Terry George, provide extraordinary performances in the upcoming filmThe Promise. I applaud the entire team, together with my good friend the legendary producer Mike Medavoy, whose enduring talent, dedication and commitment brought this important project and subject to life”, DiCaprio said on Facebook.

The world premiere of the film is set for April 21.

It will be available in Armenian cinemas from April 27.

Earlier many actors and musicians, as well as athletes expressed their support for the film, including Cher, Barbra Streisand, Elton John, Sylvester Stallone, Andre Agassi, Owen Wilson and Dean Cain.

The Promise, staring Christian Bale and Oscar Isaac, tells the story of the Armenian Genocide at the outset of World War I.

The late Armenian American billionaire Kirk Kirkorian financed the production of the film.
