YEREVAN, MARCH 13, ARMENPRESS. Food price index in Armenia decreased by 1.2% in February, 2017 compared to January, according to the data published by the National Statistical Service, reports “Armenpress”.
The decline of food prices is mainly linked with the decrease of prices of dairy products, cheese, eggs, fruits and vegetables.
Bread and cereal prices remained unchanged in February compared to January. The prices of meat increased by 0.1%. Fish and seafood prices increased by 1.4% in February compared to January.
0.6% deflation was recorded in the dairy products, cheese and eggs market. Inflation in oils and fats comprised 0.5% in February compared to January.
1.3% deflation was registration in fruits in February compared to January.
The prices of vegetables significantly decreased by 5.6%. In February, 2017 sugar, fruit purees, honey, syrups, chocolate and sugar confectionery prices increased by 0.4% compared to January.
The price of potato increased by 4.7% in February compared to January, and the price of eggs decreased by 2.7%.
