Aliyev’s announcements prove why international community should recognize NK independence – deputy FM Kocharyan

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. At the request of ARMENPRESS, deputy minister of foreign affairs of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan responded to the latest announcement of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

- Mr. Kocharyan, how would you comment on the recent statement of the President of Azerbaijan, in which the latter presents territorial claims towards the Republic of Armenia.

- Unconcealed claims of Azerbaijan towards the territories of Armenia openly prove why the international community should recognize the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, whereas Azerbaijan should bear international responsibility for the aggression unleashed against the self-determined Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and its consequences.
