Ukraine's Odessa region governor Saakashvili says decided to resign

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS. Mikheil Saakashvili, former Georgian President and the governor of the Ukrainian region of Odessa, has decided to resign, Sputnik News reports.
"In the current situation, I made a decision toresign and begin a new phase ofstruggle," he told a press conference.
Saakashvili, a fugitive fromprosecution inhis homeland Georgia, was granted Ukrainian citizenship and appointed the governor ofOdessa Region last year. He served asGeorgia's president between2004 and 2013.
He left forthe Unites States just days beforehis presidential term expired, and has been living outsideGeorgia ever since
