“Independence Generation” orchestra and choir to hold concert on September 21

YEREVAN, SEPTEMBER 13, ARMENPRESS. On September 21, the day of the declaration of Armenia’s Independence, a concert will be held with the participation of “Independence Generation” orchestra and choir in the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex. More than 700 children and young people from different provinces of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh are included in the orchestra and choir.
Project manager, conductor Sergey Smbatyan told “Armenpress” that nearly 80% of this music staff are from provinces. He said these days they are holding professional trainings with the participants to improve their skills. Many of them perform in the orchestra for the first time.
“We are proud of our past, but we also have very good young generation that shapes the country’s present, and will shape the future tomorrow. And on the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence our future makers must be presented”, he said.
One of the musicians is violist 22-year-old Asatur Asaturyan. He came to Armenia from Aleppo 5 months ago for permanent residence. He wants to continue his music studies in Armenia.
He says performing in the “Independence Generation” orchestra is a great experience for him.
“Various violists are training with us these days, I learn a lot from them. Moreover, the contract with the Armenian musicians is interesting. This is master class for me”, he said.
