Hmeimim to become Russian military base in Syria

YEREVAN, AUGUST 11, ARMENPRESS. Russia plans to make the Syrian Hmeimin base a complete air base and station its Aerospace Defense Forces there, according to Izvestiya Franz Klitsevich, deputy chairman of the defense committee of Federation Council said.

“After the legal status is agreed upon, Hmeimim will become a Russian Armed Forces base, appropriate infrastructure will be built, and our servicemen will live in proper conditions”, the Senator said.
