Convict commits suicide in correctional facility’s hospital

YEREVAN, AUGUST 6, ARMENPRESS. A convict has committed suicide by hanging himself with a sheet in the bathroom of the Correction Facility’s hospital, Gor Ghlechyan – head of the Correctional department of the Justice Ministry told ARMENPRESS.

According to him, the convict had health issues; therefore he was transported to the hospital of the Correctional Facility. Forensics is underway, and an investigation is launched to determine the circumstances of the incident.

The convict had been sentenced various times before. This time he was sentenced for selling large amounts of narcotics.
