Hailstorm causes significant damages in Aragatsotn Province, Armenia

YEREVAN, JULY 11, ARMENPRESS. The Governor’s Office of Aragatsotn Province told ARMENPRESS heavy hailstorms occurred in the evening of July 10 (20:30 – 21:30) in Aragatsotn. Exceptionally large hailstones caused significant damages in Ashtarak.

The hailstorm caused serious damages in Ashtarak, Aragatsotn, Sasunik, Oshakan, Parpi, Bazmaghbyur, Aghdzk, Voskehat, Voskevaz, Agarak, Karbi, Ohanavan, Artashavan and other communities.

Governor Gabriel Gyozalyan visited the communities to review the damages and organize necessary actions.

According to preliminary data, agricultural crops, fruit gardens and croplands were almost entirely damaged in the abovementioned communities.

The hailstorm and strong winds also caused significant damages to buildings.

The Provincial Commission is researching the consequences and clarifying the extent of damages.

Currently strong winds and precipitations continue in the Aparan region.
