YEREVAN, JULY 1, ARMENPRESS. Defense Minister of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan celebrates 54th birthday on July 1, reports “Armenpress”.
On the occasion of his birthday, Defense Minister’s Spokesman Artsrun Hovhannisyan congratulated the Minister: “Today is the birthday of the Armenian Minister of Defense, the NKR hero, Colonel-General Seyran Ohanyan. We congratulate the Minister, wish him good health and his dreams come true which are mainly related to the strengthening of the Armenian statehood and the Army. Today also 2016 summer draft launches. We wish our new conscripts a peaceful service and a proud return. Congratulations, dear Minister and a beloved soldier”, Hovhannisyan writes in his Facebook page.
Seyran Ohanyan was born on July 1, 1962 in the NKR city of Shushi.
He was appointed to the post of Defense Minister on April 14th, 2008 by the decree of the President of the Republic of Armenia.

- In 2012, by the decision of the Special Session of the Armenian Higher Attestation Commission’s ``Political Science and International Relations`` Doctoral Degrees` Conferral Specialized Board operating at the Institute for National Strategic Studies, MOD, Seyran Ohanyan was awarded a PhD in Political Science for the thesis devoted to the contemporary issues of the Armed Forces` development.
