Miss Turkey sentenced for insulting Erdogan

YEREVAN, MAY 31, ARMENPRESS. Merve Buyuksarac, model and “Miss Turkey 2006” has been sentenced to 14 months imprisonment for insulting Erdogan during his premiership.

The Court decided to postpone the sentence implementation.

Merve Buyuksarac will not be imprisoned for 14 months, unless she repeats the “crime” again during that time.

Buyuksarac had posted a satirical poem on her Instagram. The poem was criticizing Erdogan, by using a edited version of the Turkish anthem.
